We’re in the News – Leasehold surveys come under spotlight
An article by our director Ian Lee about leasehold property has appeared in a prominent position on page three of the Homes supplement in today’s Portsmouth News.
Ian explains how householders have become more aware of issues surrounding this type of property ownership and taking steps to safeguard its value with extended lease terms.
Leaseholder property comes under the spotlight amid Government concerns about some housebuilders selling new homes leasehold rather than freehold – with concerns over ground rent increases and leasehold terms.
Ian says there has been increased demand for valuation surveys as householders seek to extend the length of their leases. In some cases, groups of leaseholders in apartment blocks are joining together to buy the freehold of the entire property.
At McAndrew Martin we carry all types of land, property and building surveys in our General Practice department. General Practice is one of six divisions in which we provide property services nationwide: Architecture, Building Surveying, General Practice, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Project Management and Contract Administration and Structural Engineering.
